Steven Summers is a video and installation artist who grew up in the North suburbs of Pittsburgh. Originally trained in painting and drawing, he has, for the past 10 years, been exploring the creative use of the moving image, whether it be through video installation or traditional narrative cinema. His work has been shown in galleries and screening rooms internationally. He is a video instructor at both The Chicago Academy for the Arts and in DePaul University's Digital Cinema Department. Currently living in Chicago, his work continues to explore themes of perception, anxiety, and the fear of time in contemporary society.
